We work with Calgary youth who are actively involved in philanthropy to develop a one-day workshop in partnership with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), that demonstrates and provides a hands-on, experiential learning for youth participants.
For youth interested in: Philanthropy, discussion, volunteering
What we do: The Youth Forum introduces skills that form a strong foundation for youth participants. We do hands-on activities that instill the importance of philanthropy, an inspiring presentation on the benefits of giving, and speaker sessions with Calgarians with philanthropic experience and insight into the importance of giving back.

Youth Can Vote Calgary is a web-based initiative that provides non-partisan, election related resources to students interested in learning about and participating in the municipal election process.
For youth interested in: Politics, current issues
What we do: On Election Day, youth are encouraged to cast their votes for the municipal election in a mock election format through schools. In addition, Youth Town Hall meetings are organized for youth to pose questions to aldermanic and mayoral candidates. Finally, www.youthcanvote.com provides a resource for youth to become educated about the issues affecting our city and the promise and platforms of the mayoral and aldermanic candidates.

In partnership with the Calgary Foundation, every two years Youth Vital Signs gives voice to Calgarians ages 12-20 by researching the opinions of youth who grade their quality of life in key issue areas. View the 2012 Youth Vital Signs Report here
For youth interested in: Politics, ideas, research
What we do: We know youth have valid opinions, good ideas and a concern for the future of their communities. Whether by design or by accident, the voices, opinions and knowledge of young people are often not included in planning, policy and design-making processes that directly impact their lives. Youth Vital Signs is a way to change that and provide a snapshot of Calgary.
