18 Jun MYC Distracted Driving Campaign

To combat the issue of distracted driving, especially as it pertains to youth, the Mayor’s Youth Council Research Committee is working with the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) to raise awareness.
 
The AMA is asking people to visit their site to sign a pledge to correct negative driving habits. See more info on their website here.
 
The committee is also distributing posters to further bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving. The posters were designed entirely by youth and the AMA has agreed to help distribute these materials so we can work together to stop this dangerous habit. The committee is currently contacting school board trustees and Alberta Education to ask them to include a component about distracted driving in current Career and Life Management (CALM) curriculum.
