26 Jan Youth Central Annual Report

Youth Central would like to announce the release of its 2013/2014 Annual Report, including audited financial statements. The report is online this year, in order to reduce printing costs and make it easier to share. It was a busy year for Youth Central and its 3,400 youth. The most recent audited financial statements are also available online. Youth Central has 6 full-time staff and 21 hourly or part-time staff working on the nine programs. Nineteen staff (many of whom are hourly, university aged employees) coordinate the programs and are there to mentor the youth volunteers, ensuring the volunteers are safe, having fun and learning from their experiences. The staff offer support to the youth committees and help bring their passionate ideas to fruition. On the audited statements, salaries are not listed as program expenses. For most programs, there are very few hard costs. The remaining two part-time staff are responsible for fundraising, leadership and administration of the organization. Youth Central strives to keep expenses low but the quality of the programs high.
