19 Aug Welcoming Leslie Biles as Our New Executive Director
We’re excited to welcome Leslie Biles as Youth Central’s new Executive Director.
Leslie is a leader who knows how to bring people together to make big things happen. With more than two decades of leadership in the nonprofit sector, she’s guided organizations through growth, change, and moments that called for both vision and roll-up-your-sleeves problem-solving.
Most recently, she led Western Canada Theatre through a period of expansion, strategic renewal, and deeper community connection as the Executive Director. Calgarians may also know her from her senior leadership work at Arts Commons.
Leslie has long been deeply connected to creating opportunities for young people. From working directly with youth at the Stampede Grandstand Show, to the Calgary International Children’s Festival, to her long-standing Rotary International commitment supporting exchange students and children’s charities, Leslie has always championed the power of youth to learn, lead and give back.
Leslie has been recognized as one of Avenue magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 for her ability to pair creativity with strong operational skills, mobilizing people, resources, and ideas to achieve ambitious goals. A committed volunteer, she has also served on the boards of several arts organizations.
At Youth Central, Leslie will lead our work to empower the next generation of changemakers, helping youth build confidence, skills, and connections that will last a lifetime. Her values-driven and collaborative style, operational know-how, and community-first approach make her the right person to guide us into our next chapter.
Please join us in welcoming Leslie to the Youth Central community.
