SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS

ABOUT OUR EDUCATION INITIATIVE

Youth Central’s Education Initiative provides school presentations that educate youth on the value of volunteering and community involvement. Our Education Coordinator provides students with inspiration, knowledge, and access to opportunities that are otherwise unavailable to them to their school community. Our coordinator meaningfully engages students in dialogue, facilitates activities and introduces students to ways they can take action and positively impact their community.

As part of Youth Central’s Education Initiative, we also offer presentations and resources to school administrators and guidance counselors. Through these presentations, our Education Coordinator explains how youth who volunteer can enhance their resume and post-secondary applications.

For the 2023-2024 school year, Youth Central will be providing very limited school presentations. If you are interested in receiving a school presentation, please let us know by filling out the form below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

START A SCHOOL VOLUNTEER CLUB

In conjunction with our Youth Volunteer Corps, Youth Central offers the opportunity for students and teachers to start their own school volunteer club. With the assistance of our Education Coordinator, school clubs can volunteer within their school and take on assigned projects in the community. Our Education Coordinator will work with teachers and other school personnel to provide opportunities that complement the school curriculum. We offer club facilitation for junior and senior high schools in the Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School District, private and charter schools. We currently have clubs in several Calgary schools.
