Mayor’s Youth Council Hackathon

A two day event where teams of high school students from across Calgary work together and collaborate, using the City of Calgary open data catalogue to create a business idea/model that can improve the City of Calgary for youth.

Date: TBD, our 2017 Hackathon has been postponed, stay tuned for updates!

Location: Calgary Municipal Building (800 Macleod Trail SE) 

Capacity: Space is limited to 75 participants.

Prizes: $750 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third…and more!

The Mayor’s Youth Council hosted their first High School Hackathon in 2016. The High School Hackathon was a two day event where teams of high school students from across Calgary worked together, using the City of Calgary open data catalogue to create technology based solutions to make City of Calgary amenities (such as pools, leisure centres, parks) more accessible and inviting for youth.
