                                      • Build Skills: Boost your leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
                                            • Find Your Purpose: Explore what matters to you.

                                          Frequently Asked Questions

I signed up for my first project, now what?

Awesome! Once you sign up, you’ll be assigned within two business days. Then at least five days before the project starts, your Team Leader will contact you with everything you need to know: what to bring, wear, and how to get there. If you need a Youth Central t-shirt, just reply to their email and ask for one.

I signed up for a project but can’t make it. What should I do?

If you need to cancel, contact your Team Leader or reach out to 403-266-5448 or info@youthcentral.com. Remember, cancellations made less than 72 hours before the project are considered a no-show and will be noted on your profile.

What does it mean if I got a no-show?

A no-show means you didn’t give at least 72 hours’ notice for a project you confirmed. This will be noted on your profile, and having too many no-shows can lead to being denied references or having your account suspended. Check out our Volunteer Code of Conduct for more info.

I haven’t heard from my Team Leader and need more info. What should I do?

Log in to your profile and check the “Assignments” tab. Hover over the project name for more details, like the address and a Google map. Team Leaders will contact you at least five days before the project. If you still haven’t heard from them, contact us at info@youthcentral.com

                                          Do you provide reference letters?

Absolutely! We’re thrilled to offer reference letters to our amazing volunteers once you’ve completed 20 hours of volunteering. To request one, email yvc@youthcentral.com  at least two weeks before you need it.

Why can’t I sign up for the project I want?

There are a few reasons you might not be able to sign up for a project.

Pending Approval:  If you haven’t completed the Parental/Guardian consent form or your profile is missing information we cannot approve your profile.

Age Restrictions: Some projects require volunteers to be of a certain age.

Project is Full: If a project is full, you’ll see a locked symbol next to it. You can add yourself to the backup list for future opportunities.

Deactivation/suspension: Your profile has been deactivated or suspended due to no-shows.
