Do you know a young person who inspires others with their leadership, kindness, tenacity, or creativity? Someone who’s making a difference in their community? Now is your chance to recognize their incredible contributions by nominating them for the Youth of Distinction Awards (YODA)!

The Youth of Distinction Awards celebrate Calgary’s brightest young leaders, aged 12 to 18, in eight unique, non-academic categories. From community service and environmental stewardship to perseverance and peer support, YODA highlights the many ways youth make a positive impact.

Why Nominate?

By nominating a youth, you’re not only celebrating their achievements but also encouraging them to continue making a difference. Past recipients have shared how being recognized boosted their confidence and motivated them to keep contributing to their communities.

The nomination process is free, fast, and easy—and it’s open until February 10. Whether you’re a teacher, coach, neighbor, or friend, this is your chance to spotlight a deserving youth in your life.

How to Nominate

Complete the simple online nomination form. It only takes a few minutes, but the impact could last a lifetime.

Alternatively, you can: 

• Write a Letter: Pen a letter about your nominee (750 words max, 12-point font). 
• Shoot a Video: Record a 2 – 3 minute video about your nominee! Remember, no images of the nominee to help us avoid bias.
