Your Chance to be Calgary’s Mayor for a Day
The Mayor for a Day Contest invites youth to submit three ideas they want implemented to make Calgary an even better place to live.
Write an essay, submit photographs or create visual art for your chance to spend the day with Mayor Jeromy Farkas and City of Calgary administration (date tentatively set for May 2026), along with the opportunity to discuss one of your ideas with appropriate City of Calgary staff.
Submissions for the 2026 Mayor for a Day Contest are open!
Submit your application by April 30, 2026 11 :59p.m.
In 2025, Kamran was selected as Mayor for a Day based his essay highlighting concerns about youth involvement in politics, government transparency and traffic safety.
