Annual General Meeting 2017

On January 26 2017, we held our Annual General Meeting where we reviewed our year in 2016 and heard from some of our awesome youth volunteers. Here is a quick recap of our year but we encourage you to check out the full annual report and audited financial statements from 2016.

We welcomed board members, youth volunteers, and community members to listen to our annual report and youth volunteer speakers. We had the pleasure of hearing from our board chair Suzy Montinho and vice chair Mathew Burpee about the organizational side of Youth Central. Penny Hume, the founder and executive director of Youth Central, shared events from 2016 and the news of Youth Central’s 25th Anniversary.

It was 25 years ago that Youth Central, formerly Child and Youth Friendly Calgary, was established in Calgary. Since then, it has grown into a wonderful organization facilitating volunteer and leadership opportunities for youth in Calgary. One of the ways we are celebrating our 25th anniversary is through profiling 25 of our amazing alumni. These 25 alumni profiles will be released every 2 weeks throughout the year, so be sure to check back and read about some of our amazing youth and how they’ve grown since leaving Youth Central.

There will be more ways to celebrate Youth Central’s 25th anniversary this year, so be sure to keep an eye out on ways to celebrate with us.
