Calgary Cinderella Project

The mission of the Calgary Cinderella Project is to encourage the completion of high school education by assisting youth facing adversity with the celebration of their academic accomplishments. Our program is discreet and honours diversity and educational achievement, while making a student’s dream come true on their graduation day.

Over the years we have collected many dresses of all styles. Although we would happily accept all dresses, due to storage limitations and feedback we have received, we kindly ask all donations to follow this criteria:

        • New or gently used – no rips or large stains

            • Long evening gowns, prom dresses, and bridal store style dresses

                • All sizes welcome

                    • We currently do not accept shorter dresses (above mid calf) or wedding dresses

Donations can be taken to one of the Stephen Cleaners locations listed below, year round.

                  We appreciate your generosity!

                  Varsity Acres

                  West Springs

Currently we are not accepting suits, jackets, mens shoes and mens accessories.

                  FINANCIAL DONATIONS

Many of our supporters choose to give their time, while others choose to support the project financially. Your donation will go directly towards making this day magical for each of our Cinderellas. Donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

                  HOW IT WORKS

Since 2005, the Calgary Cinderella Project celebrates the achievements of aspiring graduates as we fit them for a graduation dress, accessories, and personal care items.

For many students, the path to high school graduation can be a challenging one. The Calgary Cinderella Project exists to meet the growing need for graduates to complete their high school requirements and attend their graduation celebration in the dress of their dreams, regardless of social or financial circumstance. We create an environment of respect so that each student can feel proud to participate in their graduation along with their peers.

Upon arrival, our Cinderellas are matched with Godmothers who assist them through this exciting process. With the encouragement and support of Godmothers, these students can be themselves and feel comfortable no matter what their circumstances are. We believe that graduation is a significant milestone that should be celebrated.

“Everything was wonderful! It was joyful, organized, beautiful, and safe.”
“It was a day I truly don't want to forget.”

The Calgary Cinderella Project has dressed students in beautiful gowns and accessories that make their graduation day the special event it deserves to be. The generosity and commitment of its volunteers have turned more than 3,000 students’ academic milestone into a memory they will always remember.

What the Calgary Cinderella Project does is so much more than providing graduation finery. Led by a dedicated core group of volunteers they apply their professional expertise to create a safe and beautiful mental and physical space. These volunteers have poured time, thought and themselves into the project.
