YOUTH ARE AWESOME

Write about what matters to you and contribute to a platform dedicated to youth voices. Write, edit, and publish with other passionate youth bloggers.

Where Youth Voices Get Published

Youth Are Awesome (YAA) is an online platform written by youth, for youth. Contributors explore topics they care about—from current events to personal stories—and see their work published for a real audience. With support from junior editors, youth strengthen their writing and communication skills. It’s a space to share your voice, build confidence, and develop a portfolio of published work.

What’s the commitment

Monthly meetups

YAA runs from October to June, with one meeting each month at Youth Central.

Progress takes practice

Commit to writing two articles each month and watch your skills grow.

Write on your own time

Most of your research and writing happens independently, so it fits with your life.

Time commitment

Expect to spend about 3–7 hours per month between meetings, research, and writing.

What’s it like?

Choose your topics

Decide what matters to you most. From STEM to politics to pop culture, it’s your pick.

Work together, write alone

Share ideas and get support from peers, then dive into your writing on your own time.

Supported every step

Get one-on-one support from junior editors (experienced YAA bloggers) who help polish your writing and learn the ropes at YAA.

Level up your skills

Learn from your peers and expert guest speakers.

Where is it?

Meetings are held at Youth Central’s office, but hybrid sessions mean you can participate online if you can’t be there in person.

Hear it for yourself

“It helps so much with school, college essays, resumes, and pretty much anything you can think of.”
